HTC Desire 816 vs Oppo N1 mini
Design and Display:
The HTC Desire 816  features a 5.5-inch display with a 720 x 1280-pixel resolution with a pixel density of 267 ppi. While the other hand rival, The Oppo N1 mini features a 5-inch Super AMOLED with same 720 x 1280-pixel resolution with the pixel density of 267 ppi. That means that both the gadgets have same screen size with the same pixel density and the image resolution.
The desire 816 gives you slightly more screen space, not only because it’s fractionally larger, but because the 816 has on-screen controls.
Processor:
The Desire 816 features a 1.6GHz Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8928 with ARM Cortex-A7 chips inside and a Adreno 305 GPU with a 1535 MB of RAM. While the Oppo N1 mini features a 1.7 GHz 6 core, ARM Cortex A-7 chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 8226 with the same Adreno 305 GPU  as well as 2048 MB of RAM. Which means that the Oppo N1 mini has more RAM than its rival 816 and offers more space than the other one. But when we work on the phones then we found that the 816 takes a lead in terms of processor speed. So the 816 has an advantage over Oppo N1 mini.
Storage:
The HTC Desire 816 features 8 GB of on-board ROM. And the phone is  supported with a external SD card Slot with 128GB of expendability. A 12 GB and 60 GB of free Google Drive space is also given along with the ROM options. While the Oppo N1 mini features 16 GB on-board storage and with an external storage of 64 GB via external SD card slot. A 50GB of free cloud storage through Dropbox for 2 years is also provided. This means that both the phones have same internal storage and are compatible for an external SD card slot.
Camera:
The HTC Desire 816 features the same UltraPixel sensor (f/2.0 aperture) found in the original desire phones, although it’s a better all-round performer than before. It also has a Duo Camera for depth perception which means that there’s a range of fancy features on offer and 5-megapixel (f/2.0 aperture) front-facing camera which is good for selfies. But the front camera is not an HD version.
On the second half, the Oppo N1 mini features a 8-megapixel sensor with fast 0.8 second capture speed. The Oppo N1 mini camera is also known for the best photography with its revolving camera  and wide viewing angle, so the Oppo N1 mini takes the lead in terms of camera. The Oppo N1 mini smartphone can also capture Ultra HD video, something the Desire 816 is incapable of and there are a range of smart functions, including “selective focus” which produces similar to desire 816 without the additional lens. This new added features lets you choose over Oppo N1 mini.
Operating System:
The HTC Desire 816 features Android 4.4 KitKat and Sense 5.5. The Oppo N1 mini features Android 4.4 KitKat and a new version of TouchWiz. Both have same operating systems but the Oppo N1 mini has a bigger advantage of the Android 5.0 lollipop update. So the Grand 2 leads in operating system over HTC Desire 816.
Battery:
The HTC Desire 816 features a 2600 mAh battery that is supposedly 40 per cent more efficient than the first HTC Desire phone, which could last up to two days with 2G services. However Desire 816 has added aggressive power saver options to make sure your device lasts the distance and it’s very impressive.
The Oppo N1 mini features a 3000 mAh battery that will get you through the day. It also offers power saving features to match those of Note series phones. Both devices are a step above the previous generation, giving much better endurance. But in  battery terms the Oppo N1 mini takes the lead as it has additional features than desire 816.
Conclusion whether which one is the best:
The Desire 816 features a machined aluminium body that wraps around the sides making for a 90 per cent metal finish. There will be many colors available: Black, Gray, Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red, White. It’s a triumph of design, it looks stunning and feels sensational to hold.
The Oppo N1 mini is mainly plastic, sticking to familiar design, but with a more tactile back for better grip. The big positives are that it is dust proof and resistant in liquid down to a metre in depth, and it’ll be available in colors of-Black, Pink, White, Gold.
The Desire 816 feels like the slicker device in daily use. The user interface is faster and although it has less options and features, the interface feels more sophisticated and mature. It offers class-leading sound quality, a great display, but the real winner is the design. In the battle of these two giants, Oppo N1 mini takes it, but only just.
The Oppo N1 mini offers a wider range of features and comes with great connectivity, a stunning display, plenty of power and a camera that performs well. However it feels like it could be faster in daily use and the unique features of the heart rate sensor and fingerprint scanner may well get turned off and ignored.
Price:
As per price, the HTC Desire 816 is available at Rs 24,990 INR and the Oppo N1 mini is available in India at a price tag of 26,990 INR.
