Xiaomi is reportedly getting ready to announce a successor to last year’s Redmi 1S:a new smartphone called Xiaomi Redmi 2,its next-generation, entry-level smartphone in the Indian market.While Redmi 2 shares a few features with its predecessor, it has a few upgrades apart from the 4G-capability. The new model is powered by the 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, while Redmi 1S comes with the 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset.
The new model is thinner having thickness of 9.2mm and lighter by weighing 134gram)than its predecessor which is 9.9mm thick and weighs 158gram. The internal storage is just 8GB with an expandable up to 64 GB via SD micro card slot. The storage space is not  far enough,which makes is the neagative point which is to be considered when purchasing it.
